Sanlorenzo has launched Virtuosity, the second yacht of its 74Steel line – and, with around 1,950 gross tonnes, the largest yacht in the shipyard’s history so far. Developed over four years together with Studio Paolo Ferrari and Zuccon International Project, the 73-metre superyacht introduces features that have never been seen on a yacht before: a living tree rising through two decks, a submerged aquarium in the wellness area and an “Ocean Resort” beach club of more than 230 square metres.
The 74Steel platform
The 74Steel line was designed by Zuccon International Project and marks Sanlorenzo’s step into the 70-metre class. The first hull, Silver Fox (72 m), was launched in October 2025. Virtuosity followed in June 2026 in La Spezia, one metre longer and around 50 gross tonnes larger than its sister ship. Both yachts use a diesel-electric propulsion system, which reduces noise and vibration and allows more efficient operation at lower speeds.

A yacht designed around experiences
What makes Virtuosity remarkable is not only its size, but how its spaces are conceived. A banyan tree (Ficus nitida) grows through two decks and creates a natural centrepiece on board. In the wellness area, a submerged aquarium is integrated into the hull. At water level, the Ocean Resort – around 40 per cent larger than on Silver Fox – opens the yacht to the sea. On the owner’s deck, a glass-bottomed pool adds another highlight, while a gym is located on the sundeck.
These features reflect a broader trend in superyacht design: owners increasingly expect yachts to feel like private resorts, with a strong focus on wellness, nature and a direct connection to the water.
What the 74Steel means for Sanlorenzo
With the 74Steel line, Sanlorenzo combines its reputation for bespoke Italian design with a new scale. The fact that the second hull already differs so strongly from the first in layout and interior shows how far the yard’s made-to-measure philosophy extends, even at more than 70 metres.
