Italian shipyard Next Yacht Group, owner of AB Yachts and Maiora, has unveiled the new Next AI-Integrated System — the first fully onboard, local-first AI assistant designed specifically for luxury yachts. Presented during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show aboard the AB 110, the system marks a significant step toward the digital transformation of modern yacht ownership (Next Yacht Group, 2025).
Unlike cloud-based AI systems, the platform operates entirely offline, allowing owners and crew to control yacht functions such as lighting, climate, entertainment, energy monitoring and maintenance schedules without requiring an internet connection. According to the shipyard, all data and conversations remain fully onboard, significantly increasing privacy, security and operational reliability (Next Yacht Group, 2025).
The AI assistant was developed in collaboration with AI Technologies and YES Group and integrates directly into the yacht’s onboard systems through the proprietary My AB and My Maiora applications. Future updates are expected to include voice activation, predictive maintenance and expanded automation features (Next Yacht Group, 2025).
The development reflects a broader trend within the luxury yachting industry, where artificial intelligence, onboard automation and privacy-focused digital ecosystems increasingly become part of the modern owner experience.
