Oceanco DRAAK: from superyacht to dive and research yacht

The 93-metre Oceanco, previously known as Equanimity and Tranquility, has been extensively rebuilt by her shipyard and now belongs to the Inkfish fleet. The former beach club and spa have made way for a dive centre with a treatment room. She also carries a six-person decompression chamber, reportedly the first on an Oceanco. The helipad has been replaced by a tender area served by a crane with a lifting capacity of 12.6 tonnes. Her first show appearance since the rebuild is at FLIBS.

Scintilla Maris: charter debut at FLIBS, then auction

The 45.6-metre expedition yacht, converted from a former fishing trawler by Damen Maaskant in 2023, is the largest charter yacht making its debut in Fort Lauderdale. On 5 November she goes under the hammer online at Boathouse Auctions.

Comment

DRAAK and Scintilla Maris point to the same trend: owners and guests want more from a yacht than the harbour, whether that is diving, research or remote cruising grounds. Anyone planning to charter or buy such a yacht should check carefully that equipment, crew and permits fit together. We are happy to advise you independently, on charter as well as on purchase.
